The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a statement condemning the recent suspension of the micronation of New Europe from the GUM. Chairman of the GUM, Robert Lethler, unilaterally suspended the GUM membership of New Europe “pending more information [sic]” following “drastic changes” within the micronation.
The statement emphasises that “Although A1 does not necessarily support or condemn New Europe and its policies, we condemn Chairman of the GUM, Robert Lethler, over his using of the organisation to further his or his nation’s political aspirations”. “This is an exhibition of dictatorial-like mannerisms, which should not be even slightly prevalent in a multimicronational organisation”.
